The SkyStream Max is an upcoming Google and Netflix Certified 4K Android TV Streaming Box based on S905X4 SoC with AV1 codec support. The device is to support all available streaming services / apps up to 4K @60fps. Additionally come with G20 and/or G10 Android TV / Google TV reference design Bluetooth Voice remote control.
SkyStream brand / company whose Android TV Boxes have appeared since 2012, after a long break, temporary problems, as well as the changes that have been taking place on the streaming media player market in the last few months, it introduces a completely new and fully certified device called SkyStream Max.
Until now, Skystream has been selling AOSP Android TV Boxes, while the company has obtained Google’s approval for Max streaming media player. It also seems that the company will probably go in this direction and we will be able to see only certified Android TV streamers in the offer.

SkyStream Max 4K Android TV streaming device a few information
There is currently no full specs for the upcoming Skystream’s Max device. On the other hand, Android TV Guide was tempted to recognize. So the SkyStream Max is most likely a SEI Robotics ODM (SEI800SS (YVR)) streaming box powered by the currently popular Amlogic S905X4 SoC with support for 4K AV1 decoding. Additionally, streaming media player will support HDR10, Dolby Audio, and looks similar to Homatics Box R.
Inside, we should find 2GB of RAM and 16GB of eMMC. The device supports Dual Band Wifi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and Fast Ethernet 10 / 100Mbps (RJ45). 4K streaming player runs on Android TV 10 OS (with possible update to Android TV 11), and has built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant.
The new SkyStream Max Android TV Box, as certified by Google and Netflix streamer, will support all available streaming services up to 4K. Such us Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Google Play, HBO MAX, SHOWTIME, PBS, YouTube and many others. The device will ship with Google’s reference voice control G10 or G20.
Voice remote control featuring Google Assistant, Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play shortcut keys, plus Android TV navigation buttons including a guide button, home and back buttons, direction keys, and a watchlist button.
Price and availability
It won’t be cheap. The device is expected to be available for pre-order from 01/21/22 for $124.99. The shipment of orders is to start from March 2022. Will the price change, and whether SkyStream Max will be available for sale with another streaming player, the “Pro” version, we will find out soon.
