Wanbo DaVinci 1 Pro: First impressions and overview of features
Wanbo’s DaVinci 1 Pro is a compact projector with dimensions of 222 × 196 × 175mm (weighs 2.8kg) that looks very stylish and aesthetic. Its graceful curves, tailored heat dissipation vents, woolen textile accentuating the central area, and overall silver hue leave a striking impression. The entire housing is made of plastic, but you may get the impression that it is metal.
On the front of the projector, there is a large lens, autofocus, and a ToF lens with automatic keystone correction. As Wanbo informs on its website, its DaVinci 1 Pro projector received a PixelPro 5.0 Fully Enclosed Optical Engine. The lens has 4 pcs pure glass lens (3 glass + 1 aspherical). This LCD projector offers native 1080p Full HD display resolution and 600 ANSI lumens brightness. Wanbo says, that we can expect an image display of up to 180 inches, nice.
On the right side of the projector, there is a projector cooling unit, as well as ventilation holes that also hide 2 speakers with a power of 8W each. There are 4 anti-slip pads on the bottom, after removing them you will find 4x 1/4″-20 standard screws to hang the projector from the ceiling. Turning to the back of the projector, you’ll discover a 2x USB 2.0, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio port, a power button, and an AC port.
Together with the projector, Wanbo provides a Bluetooth voice remote control resembling the G10 remote control, complete with dedicated buttons for popular streaming services (YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+) as well as Google Assistant, alongside a convenient projector settings button with manual focus. We can now assure you that voice commands are transmitted via remote work without problems.
Projector Smart Features
Wanbo’s DaVinci 1 Pro is a budget home cinema projector, but it has the smart display features found in much more expensive projectors. The projector is equipped with ALL-scene Smart Algorithm 3.0 (ASA 3.0) technology. It offers smart intelligent screen alignment, obstacle avoidance, auto keystone correction (±30°), and autofocus. In addition, the projector allows you to scale the displayed image.
All functions can be activated to enable the projector to adjust the image automatically upon the next power-up, eliminating user intervention. In addition to automatic settings, the user also has access to manual settings and corrections. To achieve your preferred image, you need to use manual adjustments. Auto keystone correction functionality can be inconsistent, often necessitating manual adjustments by the user through the Four Trapezoid option. It is worth performing trapezoidal calibration first for better display. Similarly, Auto Focus may not always effectively sharpen the image, particularly at the corners, prompting manual adjustment using the remote control buttons.
Below, a video demonstrates the operation of Auto Object Avoidance. Regrettably, this feature is only effective when three-quarters or half of the object is obscured by the projected image. If the display covers the entire object and goes beyond it, the projector cannot cope with it. You can see it in the videos below.
Displayed image and Audio Quality
The DaVinci 1 Pro projector is an LCD projector that features a PixelPro 5.0 Fully Enclosed Optical Engine with a lens comprising four pure glass lenses (three glass and one aspherical). This LCD projector delivers a native 1080p Full HD resolution and boasts a brightness of 600 ANSI lumens. Wanbo claims it can project images of up to 180 inches (3.98m x 2.24m screen length x width and 4.9m distance of the projector from the wall), which is impressive. We managed to reach approximately 112 inches (2.48m x 142m) and a distance of 3.10m from the wall. It is worth noting that in order to display such a large image, the projector is at a height of 106 cm.
In terms of display quality, the projector lacks HDR capability, but it compensates with adjustable color temperature settings (Cool, Warm, Standard, User) and display modes (Standard, Vivid, Soft, User). Despite this limitation, the displayed image is quite impressive. Below, there’s a comparison between the display quality of the significantly pricier XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro (500 ANSI Lumens) and the DaVinci 1 Pro (600 ANSI Lumens). Wanbo’s projector demonstrates commendable performance in this regard. The Davinci 1 Pro projector is on the left.
Without a doubt, DaVinci 1 Pro is a projector that is supposed to work at night, not during the day. Although it doesn’t look too bad with the blinds closed. Below are more photos taken at night and in daylight.
As mentioned earlier, the Wanbo Davinci 1 Pro comes with two 8W speakers that deliver solid sound. The projector offers six sound modes: Standard, News, Music, Movie, Sports, and User. While the treble could be more precise for our taste, the bass, although not meaty, is satisfactory. Additionally, users have the option of enhancing the audio experience by connecting external Bluetooth speakers or integrating them with the audio system.
The projector’s noise level is acceptable, albeit not as quiet as the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro we tested earlier. It registers between 46-54dB when measured with a meter.
Google TV and other features
When it comes to the operating system of the Davinci 1 Pro, it’s worth noting that it runs on two systems. According to Wanbo, the Davinci 1 Pro (model name WPC24) operates on the “New OS,” managing the projector settings such as display, sound, and input sources. However, upon startup, it transitions to the familiar Google TV OS, based on Android TV 11 OS. This provides seamless access to streaming content and applications, alongside built-in features like Google Assistant and Chromecast, functioning just like certified streaming devices. Interestingly, nestled within the projector is a 4K Google TV Stick (Skyworth HP46BY4), powered by Amlogic S905Y4 SoC, delivering 4K AV1 video decoding with 2GB RAM and 8GB eMMC storage. Certified with Widevine L1, it supports Netflix HD. It is not new in projectors that manufacturers rely on such a trick to offer a “certified” projector. Previously, we could see such an operation in MECOOL KP1. Apart from these details, yes, that’s right, DaVinci 1 Pro is a Google TV Netflix-certified Full HD projector.
By using the latest Wanbo’s projector, you can be sure that all available streams (Disney+, Prime Video, HBO MAX, etc.) will work without any problems, starting with Netflix HD. The DaVinci 1 Pro projector can also play videos up to 2160p (4K) on YouTube, depending on the video being played, it is smooth or with slight delays. Apart from this, you can easily install an app or game available on Google Play for Android TV. Using Game mode, you can also connect consoles via HDMI and play better titles. Besides, we had no problems with WiFi (after tests, download: 199.3Mbps, upload: 303.3Mbps).
By the way, although the projector supports 4K video decoding, we were unable to play most 4K video samples via USB. Either the format or sound was unsupported. After installing Kodi Nexus 20.5, the application did not see the external USB drive.

Review DaVinci 1 Pro: Conclusions
The Wanbo DaVinci 1 Pro stands out as a budget-friendly 1080p Google TV Netflix-certified projector boasting premium smart display capabilities. While its smart features may require minor adjustments, its 600 ANSI lumens brightness delivers impressive image quality, particularly in low-light conditions. Although the projector’s sound isn’t flawless, it’s satisfactory for an enjoyable viewing experience on a large screen. Acting as a 2-in-1 device, it combines a projector with a built-in streaming device, offering a comprehensive solution for audio-video entertainment straight out of the box. If you need a projector with good display features that will allow you to watch certified Netflix HD content and is affordable, then Wanbo DaVinci 1 Pro will be a good choice for you.
