SDMC is one of those manufacturers that have Google Certified Android TV Box in your portfolio. Recently, the SDMC brand has released another Android TV streaming box called SDMC DV9135. DV9135 is powered by Amlogic S905Y4 SoC feature 4K AV1 decoding.
S905Y4 Soc feature 4K AV1 decoding
Since the guidelines for new streaming devices to support 4K AV1 decoding were introduced, manufacturers are outdoing each other in introducing new devices (inter alia SDMC DV9135). In addition to Google’s AV1 codec guidelines, you may also notice remote controls that also have Google’s reference design remotes.
Going back to the S905Y4 chipset. Amlogic S905Y4 chipset features low-power A35 CPU cores instead of keeping Cortex-A55 cores, which consumes up to 32% less battery power in achieving the same performance as Cortex-A55 cores. However, its performance is lower compared to the Amlogic S905X4 SoC. It is worth mentioning that the same chipset can also be found in the new Android TV Dongles (for example, SDMC DV6071Z and SEI Robotics SEI450).
SDMC DV9135 Google Certified Android TV Box Features
In addition to the aforementioned S905Y4 chipset, the TV Box offers 2GB RAM and 8GB eMMC. Besides, the device supports Wifi 2 x 2 MIMO 2.4GHz/5.0GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Fast Ethernet, and Bluetooth 4.2. The device also comes with HDMI 2.1 (CEC, HDCP2.3). Google Certified TV Box runs on Android TV (9.0 or 10), with all Google’s features, including Youtube 4K, Chromecast, and Google Assistant, etc.
Additionally, DV9135 Android TV Box supports 4Kp60 AV1,4Kp60 10-bit H.265,4Kp60 VP9 Profile2 Decoding, and HDR 10, HLG. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision optional. The exact specification is to be agreed upon with the SDMC manufacturer. Contact to SDMC can be found here or directly via email.
S905Y4 Android TV Box is shipped with the aforementioned Google’s design remote control, which in addition to an interesting design, the Google Assistant button has hotkeys for popular streaming services. More details can be found on the SDMC DV9135 product page. However, in the SDMC portfolio, you will also find other TV Boxes supporting AV1 decoding.
