Recently, MECOOL released an OTA update for its flagship KM2 Plus Android TV streaming box. As it turns out, this is not the only firmware update that was released at the end of 2023. MECOOL also released an over-the-air (OTA) update for its KD3 Google TV Stick. This firmware update, version C2.2.2_20230901, addresses an issue that prevented users from accessing the Bluetooth settings interface from the settings home page.
MECOOL KD3 OTA Update Details
The previous firmware version, C2.2.1_20230823, introduced a bug that caused the Bluetooth icon to become unresponsive when clicked. This prevented users from managing Bluetooth devices connected to their KD3 Google TV Stick.
The new firmware update fixes this issue by restoring the functionality of the Bluetooth icon. Users can now easily access the Bluetooth settings interface to pair new devices, manage existing connections, or disable Bluetooth altogether.
In addition to resolving the Bluetooth icon issue, the C2.2.2_20230901 OTA firmware update also includes unspecified general improvements and bug fixes. MECOOL has not released any specific details about these changes, but they may address minor performance enhancements or security vulnerabilities.
To install the update, KD3 Google TV Stick owners should simply wait for the update to appear automatically. The update process is straightforward and should take a few minutes to complete.
