TerraMaster D5 Hybrid Storage Enclosure Details
Positioned as a hot/cold storage solution, the TerraMaster D5 hybrid storage enclosure allows the use of SSDs for frequently accessed “hot” data and hard drives for less frequently used archival or “cold” storage. USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) connections ensure efficient data transfers, capping at 980MB/s regardless of the SSDs used.
TerraMaster provides estimated read/write speeds for various configurations, showcasing the device’s capabilities, with RAID 0 offering maximum capacity and RAID 1 providing redundancy.
- Read Speeds:
- 2 x HDDs in RAID 0 configuration = 521 MB/s
- 1 x SATA III SSD = 565 MB/s
- 2 x SATA III SSDs in RAID 0 configuration = 960MB/s
- 1 x NVMe M.2 SSD = 980MB/s
- Write Speeds:
- 1 x SATA III SSD = 524 MB/s
- 2 x SATA III SSDs in RAID 0 configuration = 956 MB/s
- 1 x NVMe M.2 SSD = 880MB/s
Besides, the system also supports JBOD or single disk modes, providing flexibility based on user preferences. Installation is user-friendly, allowing tool-free hard drive removal/installation, while M.2 SSDs are securely fastened with screws.
