A new Walmart’s Onn 4K Streaming Box is coming soon. New Onn 4K streaming player spotted @AndroidTV_Rumor on the FCC website. The listing was submitted by a company out of China called “Luxshare Precision Industry Co., Ltd.” but the label of the device, shown above, clearly states it to be an “onn. 4K Streaming Box” with VSN model number 110125667.
New Walmart’s Onn 4K Streaming Box: a few pieces of information
There is currently no information on the launch date at Walmart. However, it is nice that Walmart decided to refresh the device with more recent features. As you know, the previous Onn Android TV 4K UHD Streaming device appeared in mid-2021. It is powered by Amlogic S905Y2, which compared to current streaming devices does not support AV1 decoding. As noted by @AndroidTV_Rumor, the upcoming On 4K streaming Box is said to be based on an ODM from SDMC (model DV6105Z) powered by an Amlogic S905Y4 SoC.
The S905Y4 SoC is a well-known Quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A35 processor with Mali-G31 MP2 GPU which can be found in many streaming devices available on the market, for example, Homatic Dongle G 4K. It supports the previously mentioned AV1 decoding. In addition, we can expect the new streamer to support HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Audio, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD, and probably Dolby Atmos.
Considering that the price of the previous Onn 4K streaming player hovered around $30 (now for $19.88), it seems very likely that the new Onn 4K Streaming Box will also have a tempting price. That’s it for now. We’ll let you know if more information becomes available or the sale of the streaming player goes live.
