GMKtec NucBox K8 Mini PC Details
GMKtec K8 is another elegant and compact Mini PC with dimensions of 129 x 127 x 48mm in size. Which visually also resembles the recently released GMKtec NucBox K6 Mini PC. Besides, the recently released GMKtec NucBox K8 features an improved APU as the successor to the NucBox K6. Equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS APU, it outperforms the previous Ryzen 7 7840HS available in GMKtec K6. The improved Ryzen 7 8845HS retains its impressive 8-core, 16-thread CPU capabilities, but now has a built-in NPU designed specifically to handle AI workloads. AMD has upgraded the XDNA AI processor to deliver a remarkable 16 TOPS of AI performance, maintaining the prowess of 8 cores and 16 threads powered by Zen 4 architecture, reaching speeds of up to 5.1GHz. It also features 12 RDNA 3-based Compute Units with a boost clock of 2.7GHz.
Notably, Brad Linder from Liliputing mentions GMKtec’s overclocking of the NucBox K8’s Ryzen 7 8845HS chip, pushing it to 65 watts compared to the standard 54 watts of the Ryzen 7 7840HS. However, this information is absent from the official product website.
Additionally, the built-in Radeon 780M GPU within the Ryzen 7 8845HS “Hawk Point” APU is poised to deliver performance on par with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1650 Ti mobile GPU. The active cooling system is implemented by dual cooling heat fans with dual copper heat pipes.
GMKtec says that the new NucBox K8 supports up to 256GB DDR5-5600 memory (dual-channel) and two PCIe 4.0 x 4 2280 slots for M.2 NVMe SSD storage (max 8TB).
