[tie_index]First impressions and overview of features[/tie_index]
Zeblaze Ares Review: First impressions and overview of features
Zebalze Ares is a very well-made and budget smartwatch at the same time. As we mentioned, it has a retro design and additionally looks very aesthetic. Besides, it is quite light (33g). Not too big 1.3″ touch display is easy to read.
In the upper right corner of the smartwatch, there is a Power button (ON/OFF), below, there is the Mode button. On the underside (typically) there is a heart rate monitor and pins for charging. Below pictures.
The user has a choice of 4 default clock faces, while through the application (Gloryfit) you can change watch faces, just download one of the 28 available dial faces, but also you can make and customize your own dial face.
The following dial face fits very well with the retro design.
The Zeblaze Ares Smartwatch has most of the features found in other smartwatches: Heart Rate Monitor, 24-Hour Heart Rate Monitoring, Blood Pressure, Sleep Monitoring, and also 13 Sports Modes (Outdoor running, cycling, swimming, etc).
Besides, there is also Sleep Quality Monitoring, Steps Tracking, Calorie Burn Tracking, Daily Steps Goal, Real-time Pace & Distance, Goal Celebrations, Reminders To Move, Smartphone Notifications, Weather Forecast, Stopwatch, Alarm Clock, Find Phone, Flashlight, Turn Wrist Detection, Music Control. Notifications for incoming calls, notifications from various applications (Twitter, Gmail etc) work without any problems. Additionally (and typically) for this type of smartwatches, Ares supports 3ATM (water resistance is limited to splashing with water, sweat, and, at most, immersion in a glass. 3ATM does not mean you can dive to 30M with your watch) . Below are photos of some of the features and settings.
Ares Retro Smartwatch Other Features
Zeblaze Ares smartwatch has a 170mAh battery that lasts up to about 6-7 days. Besides, according to the manufacturer, the standby time is up to 15 days. The charging over 1.5 hours. The received Ares has firmware version V002327. The firmware on the day of publication of the review has not changed.
Smartwatch works with a dedicated application called GloryFit (downloadable on Google Play and App Store). The application works very well, and the presented data is well legible. However, marking on the map does not work properly. Many times, despite long walks, marking the route ended during the walk and it did not cover the length of the traveled route. It’s hard to say if it’s a problem with the GloryFit App or the smartwatch firmware. The problem is mentioned below.
Below are several screenshots from the GloryFit application (settings and health data).
[tie_index]Conclusions[/tie_index]
Zeblaze Ares Review: Conclusions
Zeblaze Ares is a budget smartwatch, while its retro design is very aesthetic, it looks nice on the wrist. Additionally, it is thin and light. It will undoubtedly help you take care of your health by monitoring vital functions and, through the application, you can control them and keep statistics. In addition, it has many other features that are useful on a daily basis, such as notifications from various applications and incoming calls. Unfortunately, as we wrote, it does not indicate the traveled route well on the map. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive sports smartwatch in retro style, Zeblaze Ares should satisfy you with most of its features.
