The Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra have been officially launched. The new Xiaomi flagships boast Leica cameras and excellent specifications. We know the prices of the Xiaomi 12S series that are not low. And the second ‘unfortunately’ – the 12S series is unlikely to hit markets outside China. But let’s see what the new flagships offer.
Xiaomi 12S Series Overview Features
Xiaomi 12S is the handiest model, which shares the dimensions and screen with the Xiaomi 12 model. However, as in the other two models (12S Pro, and 12S Ultra), it received an AMOLED HDR10 + screen with a maximum (adaptive) refreshing level of 120Hz and very high brightness. It also shares the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and the 8 or 12 GB RAM version with other models in the series. New products also offer a 32MP front camera, NFC connectivity, Android 12, and a layer of chemically tempered Corning Gorilla Glass Victus glass. However, only 12S Ultra can boast the IP68 resistance class.
About 12S Pro and 12S Ultra Smartphone
The Xiaomi 12S Pro model, in turn, is distinguished because it can also be purchased in a version with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor. We are dealing here with a slightly larger unit, with an almost 7-inch screen, which will also offer super-fast charging of 120W. The highest model, i.e. Xiaomi 12S Ultra, is indeed a “descent” for charging with 67W power, but this design is supposed to charm primarily with photographic units.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra is equipped with a 1-inch IMX989 sensor from Sony, with a Quad-Bayer matrix with pixels up to 1.6 μm. It is also the first Android smartphone to support Dolby Vision HDR video recording and playback. This means vivid colors, a high contrast ratio, and richer details. We also deal here with optical image stabilization or aspherical lenses that are supposed to solve common problems such as flare, ghosting, and chromatic aberration. Specifying the lower models (12S and 12S Pro), in turn, use the IMX707 sensor, also from Sony (1 / 1.28 inch, 2.44 μm pixels after grouping).
