RK3566 X88 PRO 20 Android TV Box Overview Features

We mentioned the new Rockchip RK3566 chipset on the occasion of the X96 MAX TV Box. The RK3566 SoC is a successor to the Rockchip RK3288  SoC and outperforms it significantly, with quad-core Arm A55 CPUs (4x Cortex-A55 @ up to 2.0GHz) and an Arm Mali G52 GPU. RK3566 SoC support 4Kp60 H.264/H.265/VP9 and other formats HD decoding.

However, manufacturers publish information about “Ultra HD 8K” and H.265 [email protected] support. Without testing it is difficult to deny it one hundred percent. However, in the PRO 20 specification, which is available in the offer, lacks such information.

In addition to the aforementioned Rockchip’s chipset, the TV Box comes with 4GB – 8GB RAM, and 32GB – 128GB eMMC. That’s right, it’s another Android TV Box to comes with 8GB RAM (DDR3). Is it related to the use of the RK3566 SoC and will become a standard in the next TV Boxes based on this chipset, time will tell. However, it is very likely.

The new PRO 20 runs on Android 11 OS and supports Dual-Band 802.11ac, Gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth 4.2.

If you need a TV Box with up to 8GB RAM and even 128GB eMMC, you should consider buying it. In addition, the device is to support OTA updates, and this bodes well for the future in terms of easy access to the current firmware.
