Warchief Android Game Console with Tegra K1 chip support motion controls

A new video game console launched in China recently, featuring an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, Extreme Reality’s motion controls, and Google Android-based software.

The game console is called the Warchief, and it sells for about $160 (Warchief can be purchased in China only on sites like Taobao and JD.com for 999 CNY), which makes a bit pricey for an Android TV box, but pretty inexpensive for a video game console.

The package also include the Wii-like remote, a wireless gamepad, the camera, a power supply, a small USB dongle (for the remote or gamepad), and a few cables. A gun and steering wheel are also available separately. The system runs Android 4.4 with a user interface in Chinese only.

3D Motion control is achieved thanks to Extreme Reality (XTR3D) technology providing real time full body 3D motion capture technology using a single standard 2D webcam.

The Warchief game console was developed by Qihoo 360 and Xiacong and comes with a wireless gamepad, a Wiimote-style controller with a gyroscrope for motion controls, and a webcam which can detect gestures so you can interact with some games using your body.

Games for the Warchief are available through an included app store and game developer Gameloft announced last month that three of its titles would be available for the console: Modern Combat 5: Blackout, Asphalt 8:Airborne, and Wild Blood.
