The following video from our YouTube channel where you can take a look at more Venz V10 PRO+ TV Box and bundled accessories.
First impressions, settings, overview of features
Once again it is worth mentioning that Venztech is probably the only manufacturer that attaches 2x AAA batteries. VENZ V10 PRO+ like the previous model V10 PRO, and V10, which we also had the opportunity to test (VENZ V10 review here) looks identical, it differs only the designation on the housing.
The VENZ V10 PRO Plus TV Box is a made very solidly and aesthetically. The case is made of aluminum in black color, aluminum casing is good for cooling (a big plus), and looks elegant. The quality of workmanship is on a high level. TV Box also has a small size (11 x 11 x 3 cm). As mentioned at the beginning of TV Box is equipped with a popular Amlogic S912 SoC, which supports VP9-10 Profile-2 up to [email protected], H.265 HEVC [email protected] up to [email protected], H.264 [email protected] up to [email protected], H.264 MVC up to 1080p @60fps, MPEG-4 [email protected] up to [email protected] (ISO-14496) and more. TV Box also runs on Android 7.1.2. On the front V10 PRO+ is a IR receiver. On one side there are three USB 2.0 ports. On the rear panel are: 5V/2A DC jack, AV port, optical S / PDIF port, RJ45 Ethernet port, RESET hole, HDMI 2.0a port and micro SD card slot.
At the bottom of the device, there are rubber pads to prevent shifting. The V10 PRO+ TV Box also has holes for the discharge of hot air.
As mentioned above, in the VENZ V10 PRO Plus LS version, the TV Box comes in addition to a typical remote control with the already known VENZ VZ-RK-1 Ladyshape, wireless 2.4GHz fly-air-mouse, full-size remote control and QWERTY layout keyboard in one. Of course VENZ VZ-RK-1 can be purchased separately. The VZ-RK-1 is also made of a good quality plastic. The buttons react fairly quickly without delays, which makes a lot of pleasure with control VENZ V10 PRO Plus via VZ-RK-1. The QWERTY keyboard works without objections. Indeed, the combination of the VENZ V10 and VENZ VZ-RK-1 is a good connection, which allows easy, fast and comfortable use TV Box from the sofa 🙂 . You can forget about the typical mouse and keyboard. A Big Plus!. Using VENZ VZ-RK-1 is simple. All you have to do is put the VZ-RK-1 USB receiver in the USB port at TV Box. VENZ VZ-RK-1 3-in-1 device (remote control + air mouse + QWERTY keyboard) also works well with other TV Boxes.
As for the UI / launcher, there is no surprise here. VENZ V10 PRO+ has a well-known VENZ GUI from other models (VENZ V10, VENZ V12 Ultra), which looks great and is very readable, providing quick and easy access to the most important features. Very easy and quick passes between the icons.
We can choose typical the resolution of FHD 1920×1080 (1080p 60Hz) but you can also adjust the preferred resolution. Everything worked stable and very quickly without delays. TV Box supports DLNA and Miracast. We had no problem with Ethernet and WiFi connection to the router and to the Internet, but Wifi connection could be faster (Ethernet: Download – 316.14Mbps Upload – 40.13Mbps, WiFi: Download – 13.17Mbps Upload – 26.46Mbps). VENZ V10 PRO+ supports Netflix up to 720p and 1080p Youtube. In addition to the remote control, VENZ VZ-RK-1 air mouse with a keyboard we used a standard keyboard, mouse and iPega PG-9076 gamepad (paired via bluetooth). The V10 PRO+ TV Box has exactly 14.56GB storage (in the specification is 16GB). The TV Box comes with a pre-installed Kodi 17.6, MX Player and Movie player. If you need to control TV Box via smartphone, you can use a great application called CetusPlay (Install CetusPlay On TV/Box app on TV box and open, Install CetusPlay on a smartphone). Most Google Play store apps (for testing) were not compatible with the TV Box. We had to install them from external memory. Below some screenshots.
On the V10 PR+ (as well as most other Android TV Boxes) you can play in games from the Google Play store. You can play without a problem just connect gamepad or keyboard. We used iPega PG-9076 gamepad (paired via bluetooth). Beach Buggy Racing, Real Racing 3, Riptide GP2 and Asphalt 8 works without problem, even with high resolution works trouble free. If you like Fruit Ninja, VZ-RK-1 will make your entertainment easier.
Operating system and components
The VENZ V10 PRO Plus TV Box runs on the Android 7.1.2 Nougat with the Linux Kernel version 3.14.29. The V10 PRO+ TV Box comes with firmware build number V184.108.40.20680122. As mentioned before, TV Box is equipped with a SoC Amlogic S912 octa-core ARM Cortex A53 processor @ up to 2.0GHz processor and GPU ARM Mali-T820MP3, CPU speed between 100 MHz and 2.0 GHz (but in CPU-Z app only 1.51 GHz). On the following screens, you can see exactly the components used and their specification (Information taken from the CPU-Z app). Below screenshots.
After using the DRM info (app) we know that V10 PRO+ supports Google Widevine Modular DRM, but unfortunately does not support Microsoft Playready DRM, Marlin DRM and Verimatrix VCAS. The device also has root access.
Performance tests and benchmarks
For testing, we use the AnTuTu Video Tester 3.0 app and AnTuTu Benchmark 6.3.5 The result 914. As you can see in the screenshot, not all codecs of several samples have been supported.
Video playback by Kodi 17.6 Krypton and MX Player runs smoothly and stable. The Venz V12 Ultra without problem seems plays movies with the resolution of 480p,720p and 1080p (24fps, 30fps, 60fps) and also 4K (60fps) with various codecs videos such as H.264, H.265, MPEG2, MPEG4, RMVB and audio – DTS and AC3. Dolby Digital 5.1 passthrough worked fine via HDMI. Also, we tested several video formats – AVI, MKV, MP4 (typical formats in which it holds the majority of movies), ISO and also videos was played fine. The tested TV Box plays video files in 4K (also 60fps) almost without any major problems. The following table of video samples tested for Kodi. TV Box also copes well with playing the video on YouTube – videos play in 1080p. We tried to play VP9 4K video and also runs smoothly.

Below audio passing scheme for V10 PRO+ TV Box.
VENZ V10 PRO+ TV Box Benchmarks
Below Benchmark screenshots we were able to do: AnTuTu Benchmark, GeekBench 4, 3D Mark: Ice Storm Extreme / Unlimited, GPUBench, Vellamo. VENZ V10 PRO Plus TV Box has the internal memory benchmarks: Read 107.04MB/s – Write 40.93MB/s. RAM copy speed was 3691.11MB/s.
Despite unsatisfactory results in the benchmark VENZ V10 PRO Plus is really another great TV Box from Venztech. High-quality workmanship, well known VENZ GUI and specification based on Amlogic S912 should satisfy the majority of users. TV Box handles many different codecs and video formats plays 4K @60fps video without any major problems. The V10 PRO+ works quickly and smoothly. In combination with the VZ-RK-1, the use of the V10 PRO Plus is pure pleasure. As we mentioned, WiFi should work faster (too slow for 802.11ac standard). The vendor’s support is a big advantage of this TV Box and other models. Venztech provides a new firmware (also OTA) for its devices. Considering the quality of performance typical for the western market (European countries), 3-year warranty and firmware updates, the proposed prices V10 PRO+ ~ €129,95 incl. VAT and V10 PRO+ LS ~ €139,95 incl. VAT., are not excessive. Of course, we lack Netflix HD and Youtube 4K features, which would be like a cherry on top the cake, including this model and other TV Boxes from Venztech. Once again I want to say thanks to VENZTECH B.V. company for sending us a V10 PRO+ sample to review. If you are looking for a TV Box for home entertainment that is well-made, runs smoothly, quickly and correctly, which also easily handles the playback of 4K video, then you should interested in VENZ V10 Pro+. We recommend a VENZ V10 PRO Plus LS TV Box.
