Probably most of you know the model of TV Box Ugoos UT3S. Today we present a smaller model called Ugoos UM3. UM3 is a small box that you can plug into your TV to run Android apps. But unlike most devices that fit that description, this one can also run Ubuntu Linux.
Ugoos offers a larger model called the UT3S which sells for about $179. On Gearbest with coupon code: GBUT3S you can buy Ugoos UT3S at a price $89. But the Ugoos UM3 costs about $50 less and available from Geekbuying and Gearbest for $129.
The Ugoos UM3 measures about 4.1″ x 2″ x 0.8″ and features a Rockchip RK3288 ARM Cortex-A17 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. There’s a microSD card slot for removable storage and there are also three USB ports which you can use to connect a hard drive, flash drive, or other peripherals. It supports 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, has an external antenna, and while there’s no Ethernet port, some stores list Ethernet as an option thanks to an optional USB to Ethernet adapter. The Ugoos UM3 comes with an infrared remote control and an HDMI cable.
At the operating system level are the maximum incentive of UM3 since it has Dual Boot Ubuntu 14.10 + Android 4.4.2 KitKat very interesting if you like to experiment with these two OS.
