The SDMC (Shenzhen SDMC Technology Co., Ltd.) is a manufacturer of OTT, Broadband, and IoT devices, as well as a solution provider for cable and telecom operators. Recently, the company unveiled an 8K Android TV Box powered by an Amlogic S928x SoC called SDMC DV9286. DV9286 TV Box is to offer 8K@60FPS AV1 Decoding for Ott and IPTV Deployment. It will also support Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, as well as Netflix (subject to Netflix/Certification operator). DV9286 Streaming Box, as well as other devices from SDMC, are to be shown soon at MWC 2023 in Barcelona (27 February – 2 March 2023, Hall 2, Booth 2B20).
SDMC DV9286 8K WiFi 6E OTT Box Details
As we mentioned SDMC DV9286 OTT Box is powered by Amlogic S928X SoC. Chipset includes ARM 64-bit big Cortex-A76 and ARM Quad 64-bit Cortex-A55 processors and ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Besides, you can also find the same chipset (and specification) in the streaming box announced during IBC 2022 from SEI Robotics. Coming back to the S928X SoC, it is supposed to offer 8K H.265/AV1/VP9/AVS3/AVS2 60fps 10-bit video decoder, low latency 4K H.265/H.264 60fps encoder. The video technology includes HDR10 + / HLG, Dolby Vision, Vivid HDR, and a full-featured HDMI2.1a 8K UHD video interface.
Besides, the streaming box (which measures 112mm x 112mm x 38mm) is supposed to support LPDDR4 4GB RAM (up to 8GB optional), and 32GB eMMC storage, and will be running on Android 13 or higher. Android TV OS with built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast. In addition, the device supports triple-band (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz) 802.11ax 2 x 2 MIMO WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and probably Gigabit Ethernet. SDMC at MWC 2023 Barcelona
In addition to the DV9286 OTT Box, at MWC 2023, SDMC will also show other streaming players/smart speakers based on the Amlogic S905X4 SoC, S905Y4 SoC, and S805X2 along with the management system. In addition, a wide range of Smart Home devices (among others, Wi-Fi6/6E Mesh Router, DOCSIS 3.1/3.0 Cable modem, and more) and ready-made management solutions will be presented.
