Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is another streaming device from Nokia, this time in TV Box (Set-top-Box) format. This time and so far only in Europe (and more precisely in a few countries) and not so cheap at all.

As we mentioned, Streaming Box 8000 is another streaming device on the market. This time European, because Nokia Media Streamer was dedicated to the Indian market.
Streaming Box 8000 (streaming device in TV Box format) was developed this time in cooperation with the SEI Robotics supplier (Android TV OEM/ODM vendor) and the European company StreamView (StreamView is a licensee of the Nokia brand for Smart TVs, Set-Top-Boxes, and DAB+ radios for Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

In contrast to the Xiaomi Mi Box / Mi Box S inside also small (measures 112x112x24 mm) Nokia’s TV Box, we find a stronger chipset. The Streaming Box is powered by the Amlogic S905X3 Soc with Android TV 10 OS, ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 8GB eMMC storage.
Besides, for connectivity Dual-Band 802.11a/n/ac Wifi, RJ45 LAN port, Bluetooth 4.2, support 4K Ultra HD, and Dolby Digital Plus. Additionally, among the interfaces, we can find USB-C, HDMI 2.0a, USB-A 3.0, Digital audio (optical), AV (3.5 mm), Ethernet LAN, and DC IN (12 V, 1 A).
The device is shipped with all the accessories needed for immediate start-up (even 2x AAA batteries), exactly: Remote control, Power adapter, HDMI cable, 2 x AAA batteries, and Installation guide.
Android TV 10 and an interesting looking voice remote control
Streaming Box runs on Android 10 TV, so we have access to a well-known UI, as well as a presentation of video content, apps. In addition, TV Box is certified by Google and other streaming vendors, which allows you to watch Full HD / 4K video on Youtube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney +, etc.
In addition, the TV Box has a built-in Chromecast and of course supports voice commands via Google Assitant, implemented via Bluetooth remote control.
The remote controller looks aesthetically and is quite long, it also has 4 dedicated buttons: Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube, and Google Play.
Nokia Streaming Box Availability and price
Streaming Box from Nokia is available in several European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) via StreamView, for €99.90. The price is higher compared to Xiaomi, but it has better specifications. Whether the Streaming Box device will be available in other European countries, and also outside Europe? no more detailed information is available at the moment.
