MeLE Overclock3C Mini PC Features Overview
At first glance, the MeLE Overclock3C may seem unconventional due to its utilization of the previous-generation Intel Celeron N5095 “Jasper Lake” processor instead of a more recent Intel Alder Lake-N chip. However, MeLE has taken an innovative approach by overclocking the processor, resulting in enhanced performance. This overclocking capability sets the MeLE Overclock 3C apart from its competitors.
Despite its unique features, it remains uncertain how much performance enhancement MeLE’s overclocking technique provides to the 15-watt Celeron N5095 processor, which has been boosted to run at 18 watts. However, considering that the chip performs 23% lower in Passmark’s single-core CPU performance test and 27% lower in multi-core performance compared to the 6-watt Intel Processor N100, it’s evident that the overclocked MeLE Overclock3C delivers a significant performance boost. Although it may not rival high-end processors, it is more than capable of handling basic computing tasks, making it suitable for use as a media center, digital signage device, or for other simple functions.
One standout feature of the MeLE Overclock3C is its impressive upgradeability, which surpasses what is typically found in mini PCs. The device boasts a SODIMM slot that supports up to 32GB of user-replaceable DDR4-2933 memory. In addition, while it comes with eMMC 5.1 storage, the inclusion of an M.2 2280 slot allows for the installation of solid-state storage. The device also features a microSD card reader for expanded storage options.
It’s important to note that the 512GB storage model consists of 256GB eMMC storage and a 256GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD, providing users with the best of both worlds. The lower-priced models, on the other hand, solely rely on eMMC storage. Nevertheless, all three models feature an M.2 2280 slot capable of accommodating an SSD with speeds reaching up to 1,970 MB/s.
Under the hood, the MeLE Overclock3C incorporates a single SODIMM slot for memory expansion and a 5,500 RPM fan for active cooling, ensuring optimal performance even during demanding tasks. On the wireless front, the device supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, while the ports include 2 x HDMI 2.0, 3 x USB 3.2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (with DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB Power Delivery, and 5 Gbps data), Gigabit Ethernet, 3.5mm audio, and microSD card reader.
According to MeLE, the MeLE Overclock3C can handle up to four 4K displays when utilizing both HDMI ports and the USB-C port. This impressive display capability makes it an ideal choice for users seeking a versatile mini PC solution.
The MeLE Overclock3C’s compact design is another notable aspect, measuring 178 x 9.4 x 21mm (7″ x 3.7″ x 0.8″). The models with up to 256GB of storage weigh a mere 320 grams (11.3 ounces), while the 512GB version weighs slightly more at 330 grams (11.6 ounces) due to the inclusion of the M.2 SSD. This compact and lightweight build allows for easy attachment to the back of a display or discreet placement on a desk.
