If you have not yet had the opportunity to meet Infomir company, we would like to remind you that Infomir is a manufacturer of MAG set-top boxes for IPTV/OTT. Recently, Infomir has announced the appearance of several new devices on the market with the MAG424 series: MAG424/424w3 and MAG424A (w3) (TV Box was shown at IBC 2018).
All Infomir’s TV Boxes in the MAG424 series are powered by HiSilicon Hi3798MV200 SoC, for example, known from HiMEDIA Q30. All three TV Boxes MAG424, 424w3 and MAG424Aw3, they have the same hardware (1GB RAM and 8GB eMMC), as well as a housing with the same design. Differences can be found in the interfaces (the Infomir MAG424w3 supports Wi-Fi 2T2R ac) as well as in the operating system. Both TV Boxes MAG424 and MAG424w3 runs on Linux 4.4.35, the Infomir MAG424A (w3) TV Box runs on Android 7.0. UHD set-top boxes plays the HEVC-compressed files. It means the network load will be lower, even when delivering 4K content.
All TV boxes have pre-installed and support additional software from Infomir called Ministra TV platform. It is a dedicated solution/software for managing IPTV/OTT/VoD projects (Free and Paid version). These small TV Boxes (measures 115 x 115 x 28mm) supports sources of media content: PC and NAS in local network, Stream media protocols (RTSP, RTP, UDP, IGMP, HTTP), USB-devices. All I / O ports can be found on the back of the housing, interfaces: RCA 3.5 mm, HDMI 2.0, S/PDIF, Ethernet 100 Mbps, USB 2.0х1, USB 3.0×1, Bluetooth 3.0, 4.1, Wi-Fi 2T2R ac (w MAG424w3).
