Himedia, a well-known manufacturer of Android media players, after a “moment of silence” reminds us of its presence with a new device. Himedia S2 TV dongle is the new Android TV streaming device that has appeared in the Himedia portfolio.

Himedia S2 TV Dongle Some Details
Unfortunately, we do not know the most important information at the moment. Above all, whether the new Himedia S2 TV Dongle addition to the Google Certification will also have Netflix certification.
We can only guess that the S2 streaming device will be certified Netflix as well, as most other Android TV streaming devices based on the S905Y2 SoC. Besides, S2 TV Dongle resembles HAKO Android TV Dongle which is certified by both vendors. Besides, it seems that the new Himedia S2 Streaming Dongle will be equipped with a new voice remote with dedicated buttons / hot keys. However, it does not seem to be the Google TV reference design remote control (G10). Of course we are guessing.
Despite the rudimentary information that can be found on the product page, we know that S2 Streaming Dongle will run on Android TV 9.0. Android TV Dongle additionally supports Google Voice assistant, Chromecast,4K HDR, Youtube 4K etc. Besides, connectivity will be realized via Dual-band WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2.
