The H96 MAX is one of the most popular Android TV Boxes with a characteristic round shape of the housing. H96 Max is offered various chipsets, including S905X3 SoC and S905X4 SoC. As it turns out, now the H96 MAX can be found with the new Rockchip RK3528 SoC. In addition, the streaming player runs on Android 13 OS and supports [email protected] (H.265/HEVC) video decoding.
Rockchip RK3528 SoC Details
As reported by CNX Software, the new RK3528 SoC was shown at Mobile World Congress 2023. At the moment, we have only a preliminary specification. It seems to be a low-cost chipset for budget set-top boxes. The RK3528 is probably an upgrade to the RK3328 TV box SoC with “8K” video decoding support.
Rockchip says, that RK3528 is a new generation of smart set-top box and multimedia application chip, which can be applied to IPTV/OTT boxes, cloud terminals, and fusion products. It is a high-performance and low power consumption 4K player with decoding capability up to 8K, and meets AVS2 and HDR VIVID standards. U3 and PCIE high-speed interface also provides more extensibility.

H96 Max RK3528 Android 13 TV Box Features
When it comes to shape and design, there are no major changes. The round shape of the H96 Max TV Box has a digital LED display on the front. The heart of the device is the aforementioned Rockchip RK3528 SoC supporting video decoding from [email protected] to [email protected] (for H.265/HEVC). Unfortunately, the TV Box does not support AV1 decoding, at least there is no such information in the offer and chipset specification.
The TV Box is available with 2GB RAM to 4GB RAM and 16GB eMMC to 64GB eMMC storage. As we mentioned streaming player runs on Android 13 OS. This is probably the first Android TV Box with Android 13 on the market (if we are wrong, let us know in the comment). Besides, H96 MAX RK3528 supports WiFi 6 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, and probably Gigabit Ethernet. In addition, H96 Max allows UI customization and supports DLNA, Miracast, AirPlaye, and OTA firmware updates. Ports include HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, TF card slot, AV, optical S/PDIF and DC jack.

H96 MAX RK3528 Android 13 TV Box you can find it on AliExpress (LEMFO Official Store) for about $64 (2GB/16GB), for the version with 4GB RAM and 64GB eMMC it costs about $88. Versions with additional accessories are also available, including the G20 remote control with air mouse feature.
