Guleek A8 Android HDMI Stick powered by Amlogic S905


Guleek is a well known brand TV Stick and mini PCs. Today we want to introduce to you the new model of HDMI Stick from Guleek called Guleek A8. The TV Stick probably the first to be equipped with Amlogic S905 processor, HDMI 2.0 and Android 5.1. As far as the design of the device it looks very familiar. The first time with such housing we had contact with the model – CX-929 TV Stick. The stick is powered by Amlogic’s S905 processor, which is a quad-core, ARM Cortex-A53, 64-bit chip with ARM Mali-450 graphics and support for 4K video decoding at 60 frames in formats including H.265.

Brad Linder from Liliputing showed a video (source Roofull) where they can see the S905 can not cope with 4K video playback. It is also worth noting that video shows a sample of engineering, and probably the video is displayed on the default settings, without any attempt to optimize CPU and applications where 4K file was played.
