The GEEKOM AS 5 is a new powerful Mini PC powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor. Besides, AS 5 is a Mini PC created from an exclusive collaboration between GEEKOM and ASUS. Hence, GEEKOM AS 5 Mini PC is compatible with ASUS Enhanced Software – MyASUS. In addition to the powerful processor, the AS 5 5900HX supports 64GB DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB M.2 SSD, quad 4K display, WiFi 6E, and a wealth of interfaces. And what’s most interesting, GEEKOM AS 5 has been tested and complies with the MIL-STD-810H standard.
Availability and price
The GEEKOM AS 5 5900HX Mini PC is pre-order now for $609 (32GB RAM/1TB SSD). GEEKOM informs that orders will be shipped in mid-May.
By the way, AS 5 is not the only co-branded Mini PC. GEEKOM AS 6 is also created in cooperation with ASUS and offers even greater efficiency. Coming back to GEEKOM’s AS 5, the Mini PC has a small footprint of 120 x 130 x 58mm (0.9L). The metal housing meets the mentioned MIL-STD-810H standard. And that means the GEEKOM AS 5 can withstand extreme temperatures, altitude, humidity, and frequent drops and vibrations, ensuring reliable operation even in the harshest environments.
The heart of the device is the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor. This is a processor that we have seen many times in the MINISFORUM Mini PCs, for example, the MINISFORUM UM590. The Ryzen 9 5900HX packs 8 high-performing cores with 16 threads, offering great headroom in both gaming and productivity applications. The Ryzen 9 5900HX reaches a max boost clock of up to 4.6GHz, churning out maximum power whenever needed. The chip is manufactured on the modern 7 nm TSMC process. Besides, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX offers some impressive graphics horsepower in its RADEON 8 integrated GPU. It has 8 CUs and can goes up to 2100 MHz.
