ECS LIVA Z, LIVA One vPro and LIVA Pro new Mini PCs at Computex 2016

At Computex 2016 ECS (Elitegroup Computer Systems) company has unveiled several new mini PCs, some of the models we have seen before. Indeed mini PCs from ECS deserve recognition.


Liva z

The new LIVA Z is one of the first mini PCs powered by an Intel Apollo Lake processor. ECS says the small form-factor computer will be available with Celeron or Pentium chips based on Intel’s next-gen low-power processor architecture.

The following specifications were revealed by ECS:

  • SoC – Intel Apollo Lake
  • System Memory –  2x DDR3L SO-DIMM’s
  • Storage – 32GB/64GB eMMC flash + 1x M.2 2280 for SSD (unclear if it supports PCIe drives)
  • Video Output – Mini DisplayPort, HDMI (no revisions mentioned)
  • Audio – DisplayPort, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Connectivity – 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0
  • USB – 1x USB 3.0 Type-C, 3x USB 3.0 ports
  • Power Supply – 19V/2.1A

Liva One vPro

Another new Mini PC called LIVA One vPro and it’s a bit larger and has room for a 2.5 inch drive, six USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA ports, and support for 35 watt Intel Skylake processors. ECS LIVA One vPro with support Intel Skylake chips featuring Intel’s vPro technology. There’s also an optional optical disc drive that connects to the top/side of the case.


liva proThe size of LIVA Pro with MINI STX motherboard is only 1.3 liters! Supporting Intel’s latest Core i processors, and standard LGA115x coolers and featuring DDR4 SO-DIMMs up to 32GB! In addition, it supports USB 3.0 with the Type-C connector, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, dual display outputs via HDMI and DisplayPort, and 2.5” HDD/SSD. LIVA Pro brings great flexibility and performance into the mini PC market to satisfy more users.

The upgradeable ECS Liva Pro, meanwhile, was developed in partnership with PC case maker Silverstone. It features a custom-designed aluminum case housing a mini STX motherboard with an LGA1151 socket with support for up to a 65 watt Intel Skylake processor. There are two DDR4 SODIMM slots, support for both a 2.5 inch drive and M.2 SSD, HDMI and DisplayPort, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
