Dune HD Magic 4K and Dune HD Magic 4K Plus are the new Ultra-HD 4K HDR10+ Media Players powered by the well-known Amlogic S905X3 SoC. Recently, several new 4K Media Players have appeared in the Dune HD portfolio. In addition to the typical High-End 4K media players based on Realtek RTD1619DR chipset, you can find also cheaper S905X3 SoC models.
Availability and price
New Dune HD’s 4K Media Players can be purchased through the official website. Dune HD Magic 4K has been priced for $109, Magic 4K Plus for $139. Soon also on Futeko store.
Besides Media Player in the packege contains Bluetooth Remote, Batteries AAA x2, Power supply, HDMI cable, A/V cable 3.5mm-3RCA and Quick installation guide.
Dune HD Magic 4K / Magic 4K Plus Overview Features
Both 4K streaming media players are powered by the Amlogic S905X3 chipset. S905X3 quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 chip supports 4K @60fps HDR10+ video playback (including H.265 10-bit, and VP9 profile 2 up to 4Kp60 HDR and HDR10+). Unfortunately this chipset does not support AV1 decoding.
Dune HD Magic 4K is equipped with 2GB DDR RAM and 16GB eMMC. However, Magic 4K Plus has 4GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. It is also worth noting that both models support Dual-band 802.11ac 2T2R Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth.
Additionally, new Magic 4K and Magic 4K Plus TV Box runs on hybrid OS, consist DUNE HD OS (based on Linux) and Android 9.0.

Magic 4K vs Magic 4K Plus
Visually, the new Dune HD S905X3 TV Boxes are not very different from each other. The small housing (measures 101x26x101mm) has a Power button on the top cover in the lower right corner. They have the same features and functionality.
The main difference is in the size of RAM and storage. Additionally, there is a difference in the PSU. The Magic 4K PSU is rated at 1A. This will be perfect for network use or low amperage HDDs or SDDs, but for higher amperage storage (e.g. big physical USB HDDs) you should go for the Magic Plus 4K Plus (2A PSU).
