The DingDian S3 is another phone-sized PC but with a Pentium Silver N6000 processor and 16GB RAM. In addition, the S3 Mini PC looks identical to the Morefine M6 and Totpon M6 Mini PC that we have previously described. Previous models used a different Jasper Lake processor. DingDian S3 in a crowdfunding campaign on a Kickstarter
The DingDian S3 Mini PC can be found on the recently launched Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. Prices start at $249 for a configuration with 16GB RAM and 128GB M.2 SSD. The S3 is expected to sell for $369 and up at retail. However, the most powerful specification (16GB / 1TB) is available in the campaign for $389.
The crowdfunding campaign ends April 10, 2022 and DingDian expects to begin shipping the S3 Mini PC to backers in June.
S3 pocekt-sized Mini PC Overview Features
The heart of DingDian S3 Mini PC is the mentioned Intel Pentium N6000 processor (4-core, 4-thread, 6W TDP, 1.1 GHz – 3.3 GHz Burst Frequency). Mini PC has been equipped with 16GB of DDR4 2933 MHz memory, which is soldered to the mainboard and not user replaceable.However, storage can be expanded via M.2 2280 slot for PCIe NVMe SSDs and an M.2 2242 slot for SATA storage.
DingDian S3 Mini PC supports Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 via AX201 wireless module, and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet. Additionally, this pocket-sized Mini PC also support 4K dual display. Besides, it can be powered from any portable power bank that supports 12V/2A output over USB Type-C. The S3 measures 150 x 80 x 19mm ( 6.1″ x 3.1″ x 0.75″) and weighs 195 grams (about 6.9 ounces) and has a selection of ports that includes:
- HDMI 2.0
- USB Type-C (full function)
- USB Type-C (power input)
- 3 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A
- 3.5mm audio
- 2.5 Gbps Ethernet
S3 Mini PC works with Windows 10 and meets the requirements for Windows 11, as well as Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and other recent Linux distributions.
