The Chuwi LarkBox X 2023 is a new version of the compact Mini PC that debuted in 2022 at $399. The LarkBox X 2023 Mini PC introduces a significant change in the processor. An Intel Processor N100 Alder Lake-N chip powers the new version. Besides, priced at $199, this mini PC comes standard with 12GB of LPDR5 memory (soldered), a 512GB SSD, and two 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports, among other ports for connectivity. Availability and price
As mentioned, the new LarkBox X 2023 N100 Mini PC can be found on Amazon for $199, although it is currently out of stock and some parts of the listing still mention the previous Ryzen model.
In the meantime, the Chuwi Store continues to sell the original LarkBox X with a Ryzen 7 3750H processor for $339, but they have not started accepting orders for the new 2023 version.
Chuwi LarkBox X 2023 with Intel N100 Chip Details
Chuwi LarkBox X 2023 has the same compact form factor as its predecessor. It measures 173 x 158 x 73mm and weighs 460g. However, the main difference concerns the processor used, as well as the expansion (or not) of other components. The new 2023 version is powered by an Intel Processor N100 chip, which is a 4-core, 4-thread processor with Intel UHD graphics based on Intel’s Alder Lake-N architecture. While designed for cost-effective and low-power systems, this processor offers impressive single-core performance, rivaling that of the previous AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor. However, it falls behind in multi-core performance.
Despite the slight decrease in year-over-year performance, Chuwi compensates by cutting the price by 50% and doubling the storage capacity, while also increasing memory by 50% and upgrading the Ethernet ports from Gigabit speeds to 2.5 GbE. However, it’s important to note that the 12GB RAM is soldered to the mainboard and cannot be replaced or upgraded. In addition, the mini PC features active cooling with a fan and comes with a user-replaceable M.2 SSD.
The Chuwi LarkBox X 2023 boasts a range of I/O options, including WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The system can power up to three 4K/60Hz displays simultaneously, thanks to the HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C ports. The integrated Intel UHD graphics, with its 24 execution units, is capable of handling 4K video playback. As Chuwi informs on its website, LarkBox X 2023 supports a triple 4K@60Hz display.
