ASRock brand known primarily motherboards introduced his own NUC called ASRock Beebox. It’ll probably be available in select markets starting in June or July.
The Beebox is about the same size as an Intel NUC mini-computer, measuring about 4.7″ x 4.3″ x 1.8″. ASRock Beebox is a new mini PC incorporating interesting options, we have within it an Intel Braswell N3000 SoC to 14nm and a front USB 3.0 Type-C, but only 3.0 with which we are limited to the classic speed 5Gbs but we will have a 5V 3A. While we wait to see a model mini PC to mount USB Type-C version 5.1, 10Gbs and 100W.
As we can see in the product specifications ASRock BeeBox mini PC mounts a new Intel Braswell SoC, presented at the last IDF 2015, which is manufactured using 14nm architecture low power. The SoC chosen for this team is the Celeron N3000 which has two cores and two threads handles integrated Intel HD Graphics GPU to 600MHz. This SoC has a consumption of 4-6W TPD thus is ideal for mounting a fanless system as this mini PC. 110x46x118.5 measures are quite tight.
As for connections, the ASRock BeeBox we separate the front USB Type-C we have an audio jack, another USB Type-A connector 3.0 and an IR receiver for the remote control that comes standard in the rear have 2 xUSB 3.0 ports, two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and a Gigabit Ethernet interface. Inside we stand for 2 modules DDR3L 1600MHz SO-DIMM format with a maximum of 8GB mSATA connector port SATA 3 2.5 “, wireless AC (1T1R), Bluetooth 4.0 and Realtek ALC238 sound, everything is supplied with an adapter 12V and 36W maximum.
Apart from the basic model we have others with a preset, one with 2GB of memory plus 32GB mSATA SSD and one with 4GB of memory and 128GB mSATA SSD disk.
