2021 XIAOMI TV Stick 4K powered by S905Y4 SoC with 4K AV1 Soon
Finally, Xiaomi will launch the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K. Upcoming new 2021 Xiaomi TV Stick 4K passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. The new 4K Android TV Stick (MITVMDZ27AA) will be powered by the Amlogic S905Y4 SoC, it will have fast WiFi and new features.
We are not surprised by the fact that the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is introduced to the market. Recently we were able to see some new 4K Streaming devices in HDMI Stick format that have been released recently. Chromecast with Google TV, onn UHD Streaming Device, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick are a few of the 4K streaming devices that have appeared recently.
That is why Xiaomi could not miss a new streaming device among them. Interestingly and very likely that the new device will be named simply Xiaomi TV Stick without the “Mi” in the name.
2021 Xiaomi TV Stick 4K Some Details
As you know, the current Xiaomi Mi TV Stick (the review can be found here) supports only 1080p resolution, so most users were waiting for a version that supports 4K UHD. It has also been some time since the introduction of the Mi TV Stick Full HD (it appeared in mid-May 2020) and we finally got information about the new 4K Streaming Stick from Xiaomi.
At the moment, we do not know the full specification, but we can deduce quite a lot. The new 4K Streaming TV Stick from Xiaomi will be powered by the well-known Amlogic S905Y4 SoC. Quad-core ARM Cortex-A35 processor with 850 MHz ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU supports 4K AV1 decoding (AV1 [email protected] up to [email protected]). AV1 codec provides more bandwidth efficiency than H.265 or VP9. S905Y4 SoC can be found, among others, in MECOOL’s devices: MECOOL KM7 and MECOOL KD2.

Additionally, Xiaomi 4K Streaming Stick supports Wifi 5 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0. At the moment, it is not certain how much RAM and storage there will be. In addition, on the Internet you can find information that there may be two versions with 1GB RAM and 8GB eMMC, as well as 2GB RAM and 16GB eMMC.
Additionally, we don’t know if the device will run on Android TV 11 (like current devices) or if the end device will run on Google TV. However, we know that 4K TV Stick will be support Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTD HD content. Besides, 4K HDR10+, HDR10, HLG HDR processing.
Of course, the 2021 Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is a Google and Netflix certified device that will come with Bluetooth Voice remote control. We have managed to get used to Google TV reference design remote, while Xiaomi’s voice remote design has nothing to do with it and resembles the previous voice remote control. As you can see, there are dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix and Prime Video.
2021 Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is expected around December, but we hope it will be sooner.
